Self-compassion involves treating yourself the way a good friend would. Mindful self-compassion includes mindfulness, self-kindness, and common humanity. Mindfulness involves being present in the moment. Self-kindness involves treating oneself with love, compassion, and care. Common humanity means that everyone makes mistakes and we are all human. We are not alone.
Being in a natural environment promotes overall well-being. Stress reduction, calmness, and being connected back to our bodies are some of the ways nature have helped humans over time. We can improve our mindsets by being away from our phones and everyday busy life just by being in nature for an hour.
Experiencing the mind-body connection through hiking and walking along beaches has shown to improve anxiety and depression. When self-compassion is integrated into the nature experience, higher self-compassion is associated with more life satisfaction and less stress and negative feelings.
We provide holistic day retreats in natural environments in community groups. Self-compassion therapy is merged with experiences of walking on the beach or hiking through the forest.
